THE HOPEFUL DEV
In 2016 Kenny embarked on a journey to create a game that would deliver a powerful message for those who need it the most; children in hospitals and their families. In this talk, he will go through some of the harsh lessons, small victories, and amazing insights he learned along the way while developing a 3D adventure game for children with cancer, entitled "I, Hope" ( http://doubleplusgoodgames.com/portfolio/i-hope/ ). He'll cover what he learned, what he would never do again, and what he wouldn't change for the world.

ABOUT KENNY
An almost 20 year veteran of the animation and VFX industry, Kenny set his sights on game development in late 2014, teaching himself Unity and C#. In 2016, he partnered with GameChanger, Microsoft, Unity, and others to develop "I, Hope", available on Steam for PC and coming April 18th to Xbox One.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The NZGDA and friends will have announcements at the end of the session. If you have an announcement please fill out this form ( https://goo.gl/forms/SFi5uhWMzBws2fIL2 ).

'PROGRESS BAR'
If you have an unfinished game, or art, or anything else you'd like to share bring it along for people to play so you can get some ideas for where to go with your designs next.

We encourage studios to send along recruiters and budding game developers to bring along their work to show and CVs.

If you want to request a screen or table please fill out this form ( https://goo.gl/forms/SFi5uhWMzBws2fIL2 ). It's the same form as above.

PARKING
Parking is not easy in the city. You can catch buses to St Paul's Church.

If you are showing work and have a lot of equipment and you want to bring your car, send your name and license plate number to ben.kenobi@aut.ac.nz and I'll see if I can get you a parking space. No promises but I'll do my best.

SPONSORS
A big thanks to AUT PIGSTY (www.pigsty.aut.ac.nz/) and NZGDA (www.nzgda.com).
