About volunteering with NZFW:

At NZFW our team of volunteers are crucial to ensure the week runs smoothly and we highly value our volunteer’s contribution. NZFW volunteers get inside experience of both the fashion industry and behind the scenes of a large-scale event. The action never stops and there is always plenty to do around to venue to ensure everything goes to plan. NZFW is a fast-paced event, with long hours on your feet, and is filled with endless opportunities. NZFW volunteers work in four main areas:

Dressers: Become a part of the backstage team that dresses models in their runway looks. This role involves following the designer’s instructions and executing two or three changes per model in a short time frame. This is a fun and fast paced role, where you will be required to work quickly and calmly in the sometimes-hectic backstage environment. Dressers must be female.

Ushers: This role involves working in the events two showrooms, ushering guests to their seats in a timely and polite manner. Ushers must be confident interacting with guests and be able to smooth out any seating issues that may arise. Ushers must be enthusiastic, proactive and courteous, and may even get to catch a show from time to time.

Registration: The registration desk is the first point of contact for guests arriving at NZFW, and is constantly buzzing with media, buyers and VIPs. Registration volunteers handle tickets, information packs and any other general queries that may arise, and must be computer literate, well presented, organised and able to stay calm under pressure.

Outstanding Volunteers: There are several additional amazing volunteer roles throughout the week for outstanding applicants. Consider it as an interview for the potential job of a lifetime.

*As these are volunteer positions NZFW does not cover travel or accommodation. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and available to help out for a minimum of two full days during the event.
