Weta Workshop calls for New Zealand tertiary students to turn their imaginations into stellar pieces of art for the inaugural Incheon City Concept Design Competition (ICDC). In store for the winner: a creatively inspiring trip to South Korea to attend the ICDC awards event with Weta Workshop CEO and co-founder, Richard Taylor.


Brief


In the future, a massive spacecraft takes humans in search of a new life. Imagine these humans cohabiting with the benign, sentient native lifeforms on a new alien world. How might this frontier community look?


Prize

1st PLACE will receive a trip with Richard Taylor to the Incheon Concept Design Competition in South Korea. Travel dates for the trip will be between 25-31 August 2019. Flights, transfers, accommodation and travel insurance for the trip will be provided by us. Plus, a USD$300 voucher (in the form of Weta dollars) to spend on collectables at wetanz.com

2nd PLACE will receive a trip with Richard Taylor to the Incheon Concept Design Competition in South Korea. Travel dates for the trip will be between 25-31 August 2019. Flights, transfers, accommodation and travel insurance for the trip will be provided by us.

3rd PLACE a USD$200 voucher (in the form of Weta dollars) to spend on collectables at wetanz.com


Entry


To enter the Competition email your entry to icdc@wetaworkshop.co.nz. Please remember to include:

  1. Your full name.
  2. Email.
  3. The New Zealand tertiary institution at which you are enrolled.
  4. The name of tertiary course in which you are enrolled.
  5. Expected year of graduation.
  6. Confirm that you have a valid passport and accept the rules of this competition.

You may enter as many times as you wish. However, each entry must be one page only. Your work will be judged as individual pieces, not as a body of work.

Submission must consist of wholly original work produced by you, and will not infringe the copyright, or any intellectual property of any third party.

Submissions may be no more than 10MB. PDF, PNG, TIFF and JPEG formats will be accepted. Please provide your work at the highest quality possible to give it the best chance to shine.

Note that any entries received by post are not eligible and will not be considered by the judges.

All entries must be received by us no later than 5pm, 14th July, 2019.
